Would it taste bad if I mixed 1 cup of vanilla ice cream into a batter of chocolate?

I want to make cupcakes but I want to expirement with different things so would it taste bad if I put 1 cup of vanilla ice cream into a duncan hines devils food batter to make cupcakes?Would it taste bad if I mixed 1 cup of vanilla ice cream into a batter of chocolate?
If you mix it in, it's not going to bake right.

You should bake the stuff first and then hollow it out and put the ice cream inside like cream filling. You could also serve it as hot and put the ice creme on top a la mode... MMM!Would it taste bad if I mixed 1 cup of vanilla ice cream into a batter of chocolate?
Sounds good, but I am not sure how it will come out.....watery i would think
try it out and see what happens, ya never know you might end up making a new flavor and be rich.
If you put that into the batter along with everything else you'll just ruin it. Too much liquid. Make the cupcakes - have the ice cream on the side.
no i think that sounds good
Wow! no that sounds heavenly. I dont know if it will change the taste except to make them too sweet but definitely email me and tell me how that turns out.
Mix up a very small sample to taste for yourself. Vanilla and chocolate usually go very well together. Also, tasting ahead of time could give you a better idea of how much vanilla ice cream to add. You don't want the cupcakes to be killer sweet.
It won't taste bad, but melt it and use it in place of the 1 cup of the water. If it calls for less water, use that amount of ice cream.
well idk why dont you try it? you said you wanted to experiment
never tried it...but don't want to....
oh that sounds sooooooo good!! try it and let us know how it turns out!
that sounds good! lol
sounds good :)
it would water it down unless you're adding ice cream in place of another ingredient.
it might turn out creamy..dont you think? but you should just try it out first.
it wouls tast good but i don't know if your cupcakes would work out.
Hmmmm.. do you have taste buds? Hey, btw, add strawberries and you got NEOPOLITAN.. i'm sure it will taste just fine dear.
I really don't care if it turns out bad. You are morally obligated to try it!! I mean....think about it, ice cream in cupcake batter....it doesn't ';sound'; like a mistake. I wish more people would think like you :)

good luck
The ice cream would just melt and make a mess. Try adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract instead.
Try some sour cream instead. The vanilla wouldn't get past the chocolate and the added ingredients will alter how it bakes. You could also add almond or hazelnut flavoring or orange flavoring instead. Coffee also makes chocolate richer tasting too.
that sounds really really really good... i would say try it i can't think of a reason that it wouldn't
Shouldn't taste bad at all. Your just adding Vanilla. Try It.
It would not taste bad. You would have to substitute the ice cream for the liquid (water) in the cake recipe. There is no guarantee that the cupcakes will come out like they are suppose to with that substitution.
It would probably taste good, but I am sure it will be very mushy. Just make the cupcakes and put ice cream on the side.
yes it would what were you thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It would be good.

I made cookies last year that called for vanilla icecream as an ingredient so I don't think it would hurt what you are making.

It sould be interesting.

Good luck
That sounds absolutly wonderful but the ice cream would melt and make the mix to thin and won't bake right. Call the bakery and find out. They might know. Good luck cuz that sounded great.
that would be just like adding more sugar and milk.
I think that would taste horrible....maybe is you use duncan hines brownie mix bake it then you should add some vanilla ice cream with some cherries, whipped cream, and maybe some drizzeled chocolate on top
if you want to experiment then try! you dont' no til you try just try it and find out key work.. experimenting
yeh
