They got left out in a grocery bag I thought i put away. I found them about 3 hours later and stuck them in the fridge. They were still cool to the touch, and they smell fine.Is my cottage cheese and sour cream still good?
Only 3 hours? Yep, they're fine.

How often should I have ice cream or oreos?

I can't live life without these two things. I know you should have sweets sparingly. So, what do you think? If I basically follow the serving size... maybe a little more ... once a week? twice a week? How often should I have ice cream or oreos?
If you don't work out, you shouldn't have them very often. But, since you can't live with out them, every once in a while, like once a week or so, shouldn't be so bad.

Worlds Simplest Ice Cream Maker:

(this is not recomended for batches bigger then a couple of servings)

What you need:

- 1 Large ziplock bag

- 1 smaller ziplock bag (must be small enough to fit inside the large one with some extra space)

- crushed ice

- salt (corse salt works best, but table salt will work in a pinch)

- ice cream mix (you can find many good recipes on the internet)

* make sure that both bags have a good seal on them*

*you might want to use gloves as the ice cream maker will get very cold*

Procedure:

1. fill the smaller bag with the ice cream mixture and seal it tightly. (be sure to not fill it to full as you will be mixing the ice cream in the bag)

2. Place the smaller bag into the bigger bag along with some of the ice and 2-3 tables spoons of salt. (put in as much ice in the bag as you can with the bag still being flexible)

3. Wiggle, twirl, gently squish, or otherwise mix the whole thing with your hands untill the ice cream is the consistency of the ocecream is as you like it. ( as you mix it, dont be to rough because if eith bags open up you will have a mess on your hands. And also be sure that the inside bag gets mixed well as it could turn into solid ice.)

4. Remove the small bag from the big one, wipe off the top of the bag before you open it (to remove the salt), and enjoy. Is there a way you can make gelato or ice cream without an ice cream maker?
You can freeze your custard mixture in the freezer and pull it out at regular intervals to blend so that crystals don't form.
I can't give you the exact recipe, but I've done once ice cream in a chemestry course in high school. Basically, you simply have to take cream to which you had vanilla or wathever other flavours you want. PUt it in a ziploc bag. Take some ice, and in salt (there's a reason unless i couldn't explain why.. physical phenomen), put it in a bigger bag. Then you just have to place the first bag (with cream) into the bigger bag and you kind of shake it a little time (couples of minutes)..... cream is gonna freeze, making ice cream. It does work!

Chocolate - Pecan Pie with Bourbon Whipped Cream

Kentucky Chocolate - Pecan Pie

Add a tablespoon of bourbon or a teaspoon of rum flavoring to this pie for a more ';spirited'; flavor.

* 1 9-inch pie shell, unbaked

* 1 cup semisweet chocolate morsels

* 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

* 2 large eggs

* 1/2 cup brown sugar

* 1/2 cup granulated sugar

* 1/2 cup butter, melted (1 stick/4 ounces)

* 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

* pinch salt

* 1 teaspoon vanilla

Spread chopped nuts over the bottom of the prepared (unbaked) pie shell; sprinkle with chocolate morsels.

In a small mixing bowl, whisk eggs. Whisk in sugars, flour, salt, vanilla, and butter. Pour batter evenly over nuts and chocolate chips. Bake in a 325掳 oven for 35 to 40 minutes.

Bourbon Whipped Cream

* 1 cup chilled whipping cream

* 2 tablespoons brown sugar

* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

* 1 teaspoon good bourbon (or 1/2 teaspoon rum flavoring)

For best results, chill bowl and beaters. Beat cream until thickened; add sugar and flavoring, then beat until soft peaks form. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use. What can i make with whipped cream and chocolate chip morsels that's not a cookie?
chocolate mousse!
Depends- what kind of whipped cream you are referring to. Spray whipped cream? Cool Whip type whipped cream? Real Cream that is for whipping? If it's real cream for whipping you can make homemade ice cream. Take a 1 quart ziploc freezer bag and put in 2 cups cream or half cream and half milk and 1/2 c. sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla. Close the bag and Place this bag inside a 1 gallon freezer bag. Fill the remainder of the space with ice and 1/4 c. salt. Close the larger bag and shake, roll, or whatever to keep the stuff moving for about 20 minutes. My boys wrap theirs up in a bath towel the long way and each boy holds an end and the swing it back and forth. After 20 minutes remove the small bag and see if you ice cream is at least the consistancy of soft serve. If not, put it back in, add more ice and more salt to the large bag and go another round. IF it is set up- scoop it out and sprinkle choc chips on top! Beautiful!!!

If it's the other kinds of whipped cream- fill a bowl with it and sprinkle chocolate chips on top!!! Beautiful!!!
MOLTEN CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKES

陆 C. butter, unsalted

4 oz. bittersweet chocolate

2 eggs

2 egg yolks

录 C. sugar

2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour

Butter and flour custard cups or specialty molds. Preheat oven to 450潞F. Melt the butter and chocolate, but do not let it boil. Remove from heat and set aside. Beat together the 2 eggs plus 2 yolks and the sugar, until it's light and thick... about 5 minutes. Pour the now tepid chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, and beat to mix. Quickly beat in the flour until just mixed in. Pour into the custard cups. (At this point you can refrigerate for up to 24 hours. If you refrigerate, let return to room temp before you bake.) Put custard cups on a baking sheet and bake at 450潞F for 6-7 minutes. The outside will be set up, but the top may still be slightly wiggly. Invert on plate, let sit for 10 seconds or so, remove custard cup. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, and surround with a raspberry sauce or add a scoop of ice cream or real whipped cream on the side -- your choice.
Use the whipped cream as a topper on your hot chocolate or cappucino. Use the chocolate chip morsels as a topper for french toast or pancakes-just pop them on top while in the frying pan and they will melt a bit and taste delicious.
You could make a nice ganache to put on a cake.

http://www.kraftfoods.com/recipes/CakesP鈥?/a>

(This one calls for 4 squares semi-sweet baking chocolate, but you can substitute chips for the squares. One square of baking chocolate is 1 oz.) Four squares = 4 ounces = 1/2 c. chocolate chips.
1 3/4 cups whipping cream

12 ounces quality semi-sweet chocolate chips

3 ounces espresso or strong coffee

1 tablespoon dark rum

4 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon flavorless, granulated gelatin

Chill 1 1/2 cups whipping cream in refrigerator. Chill metal mixing bowl and mixer beaters in freezer.

In top of a double boiler, combine chocolate chips, coffee, rum and butter. Melt over barely simmering water, stirring constantly. Remove from heat while a couple of chunks are still visible. Cool, stirring occasionally to just above body temperature.

Pour remaining 1/4 cup whipping cream into a metal measuring cup and sprinkle in the gelatin. Allow gelatin to ';bloom'; for 10 minutes. Then carefully heat by swirling the measuring cup over a low gas flame or candle. Do not boil or gelatin will be damaged. Stir mixture into the cooled chocolate and set aside.

In the chilled mixing bowl, beat cream to medium peaks. Stir 1/4 of the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture to lighten it. Fold in the remaining whipped cream in two doses. There may be streaks of whipped cream in the chocolate and that is fine. Do not over work the mousse.

Spoon into bowls or martini glasses and chill for at least 1 hour. Garnish with fruit and serve.

(If mousses are to be refrigerated overnight, chill for one hour and then cover each with plastic wrap)

And just replace the whipping cream with your whipped cream.
If you melt the chocolate morsels down, let them cool, and layer them with the whipped cream, you could make a parfait.
ummmm...is it whipped cream in a squirt can??? Then...just melt the chocolate on your tongue and squirt as needed...no dishes to wash.
Melt the choclate and put it into some small bowl, then just take a spoon a eat the choclate while putting whip cream on each bite, its actually quite simple
What i make with whipped cream and chocolate chip morsels is a creamy chocolate frosting. It is really good on a chocolate cake, or cupcakes. I found that many people like it on pancakes or crepes. It is very simple. All you have to do is melt the chocolate chips and the cool whip together (about 1 cup of chocolate to 1/2 cup of cool whip, or more cool whip to make it thinner, or less to make it thicker). It is very easy, and very good!
You can buy chocolate pudding mix or cookies and cream pudding mix, and buy a chocolate pie crust. Mix the whipped cream, pudding mix, milk and the chocolate chips together. Pour into the crust, refrigerate for an hour or 2. Then top it off with the rest of the whipped cream and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top
mix whipped cream and chips, put inside two graham crackers and freeze...

Any recipes for mussels, white wine & cream sauce?

I had mussels in white wine, French herbs %26amp; cream broth at a restaurant. I'd like to try it at home, but I'm worried about the wine curdling the cream -- I'm not sure which order to add the ingredients in, or for how long, to prevent the wine curdling the cream.

Thanks in advance for any help!Any recipes for mussels, white wine %26amp; cream sauce?
assuming you are getting the kind that comes in a two pound bag from the grocery store, you really only have to make sure to pull any ';beards'; off. if they have barnacles on them, you really have to give them a good scrub. ( a butter knife works well to scrape off any barnacles ) then, you want to make sure they are all alive. if any are open, run under cold water and squeeze them shut. if they dont stay closed, discard the dead ones. then, fill a large bowl or stock pot with cold water, put in the mussels and add a PINCH of corn meal and stir them around every 5 minutes for about fifteen minutes. that will get them to purge any sand. then in a large stock pot, sautee a medium diced onion in a stick of butter until almost translucent, add three tablespoons of chopped garlic ( i like garlic, more or less to taste! ) and your herbs and add about 3 cups of white wine ( i use a bianco, reuniti or chella works well ) and bring to a boil. add the mussels right to the pot and cover. cook for about 10 minutes, until the shells are opened and turn off the heat. remove the mussels with a slotted spoon and add 1 cup of milk. i like my sauce thin....better for the bread to absorb! heavy cream will thicken the sauce. serve with lots of good crusty bread. I've also made this with sliced sweet Italian sausage and it was toooooooo delicious! ( brown the sausage first and go from there ) :-)Any recipes for mussels, white wine %26amp; cream sauce?
Start w/ a T of butter, melt on LOW heat, add 1/2 cup of heavey whipping cream, and your herbs, bring to slow simmer to reduce then add the white wine to thin it. Top %26amp; Serve!

the best cream is Mederma - it is over the counter and is kept behind the counter - so you have to ask the pharmacist for it.

the results with it vary from person to person, and it takes a long time, but people swear by it.
Strivectin-- but it can be a bit pricey. Low-budget options are cocoa butter, or pure vitamin E (pop open a vitamin capsule and apply the liquid).

  • Any ideas for a sweets (ice cream, candy, desserts etc.) inspired birthday party?

I'm having a birthday party for My 7 and 8 year old nieces. They want a sweets inspired party. Does anybody have any ideas, or know anywhere that I can buy sweets inspired decorations etc.?Any ideas for a sweets (ice cream, candy, desserts etc.) inspired birthday party?
Oriental Traders sells loads of the sweet decorations.

You might want to have a ';Make your own sundae'; party. Have several flavors of Ice Cream and all sorts of toppings for the girls/boys to put on. Have whipped cream available and most definitely large bowls.

You can used crushed oreos, sprinkles, nuts, cherries, M%26amp;M (minis) and anything else you can think of for the toppings.

Make up treat bags, but I would limit the amount of sweets. Some parents may object. You could put in gift certificates to McDonalds, Burger King. I know that they use to have booklets you could purchase.

If you know of someone that would like to come in and give the girls a manicure/pedicure, that would be fun. Or have someone paint faces. Girls love that! Or how about playing dress up. Go to a second hand shop and buy some inexpensive clothing and hats and have them dress up.

Hope this helps.Any ideas for a sweets (ice cream, candy, desserts etc.) inspired birthday party?
You could have the children decorate the cake with a variety of candy you have on the tables. You could also have an ice cream bar with every kind of candy you can think of . Ice cream bars are getting popular. You can also do candy games, get a pinata, pin the necklace on the princess using candy necklaces. Do treat bags. All you really need to do is go to a candy store and go wild.

    Think of like Candyland theme...

    Here's some more specific ideas

    http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/html/c鈥?/a>

    http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/html/c鈥?/a>
A candy custom made pinata, http://www.pinatas.com/Kids_Party_Supply鈥?/a>
    fruits and vegetables
Decorate in bright colors, like bright pinks and blues, etc.

For the napkin rings, get those candies that are rings, they look like a diamond ring and the kids wear them on their finger and suck on them, put them around the napkins. You can get them in little packages at the grocery store or dollar store. You can also just tie licorce strands around the napkins too. You can also use those button candies that come on the white paper. You can wrap them around the napkins and then staple them to hold them in place. They're the ones that are little circles on the white sheet of paper and you have to bite them off with your teeth.

For centerpieces, get some clear vases and fill them with skittles, they follow the bright colored theme and then instead of flowers, get those huge lollipops and have them coming out of the vases. Get about 3 per vase and then the kids can take them home as a favor after the party.

You can also give each child a candy necklace and bracelet to wear, have it at their place setting, on top of their plates so they can put it on when they get there.

You can also go to the m%26amp;m's website and get personalized m%26amp;m's in your niece's name which would amaze them to see them in their name! You can pick the colors and what you want them to say. You can have their names and Happy Birthday put on them and hand them out as favors, or just give them to your nieces after the party or just make them a decoration in the party.

You can also get some gumball machines and fill them up with m%26amp;m's, skittles, and gumballs and have them all around the party. There's even ones that you hang on the wall. Just make sure to have little containers with pennies so their guests can get the candy out of them! You can get the gumball machines very inexpensively these days, go to Target, Walmart, Toys R' Us, even check the dollar store, everyone seems to carry them. You can even get the ones that are candy specific, like the m%26amp;m dispenser and put m%26amp;m's in it, jelly belly dispenser and put the jelly belly's in it, etc.

For the cake, if you really want to wow them, make a 3 tiered cake and decorate it with pink icing and accent it in white. Then put some candy around the edges. You can have the girls decorate it too.

If you get foodnetwork, Barefoot Contessa has a show on today at 5pm est.time about a kids picnic party and she decorates and does a candy party. If you can, watch it, she really does it up! It's a great episode!!!

You can also serve pink lemonade, which is just regular lemonade with grenadine added, you can get that at any grocery store in the soda aisle where the mixers are. It's NOT alcoholic and you just add as much as you want, it's very sweet and stir. It makes regular lemonade pink, but for a sweets party, it's a must! LOL

You can also get cotton candy, popcorn, etc!

Set up an ice cream bar. Get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and some toppings. Sprinkles, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and cherries and have the girls make their own sundaes. You can get the tall plastic sundae glasses at the dollar store or the waffle cone bowls at the grocery store.

You can also decorate with the white paper lanterns. Not the ones that light up, just the ones that are round and white. It will look cool to have them hanging around the party.

Then you can have clusters of balloons in the colors of the party. You can do pink and white, and then pink and white streamers, then if the girls want other colors, it's their party, go for it! I would stick to the bright fun colors though!

For games, there's SO much you can do too.

Relay races, potato sack races, three legged races, wheel barrel races, etc.

You can have a pie eating contest, but instead of pie, fill the tins with whipped cream and whoever finishes first, wins!

A Pinata, being it's a sweets party, you can go to any party store and get one in either your theme which I'm sure they'll have, or just one the girls like. Then in the same aisle, they have the big bags of pinata filler which are big bags of toys and candy. They can also add their own favorites too. I used to get 2 bags of the filler and extras. LOL

You can get a big ball, like you would buy at the store to play with and wrap it in cellophane to make it look like a big piece of hard candy. Just make sure to tie the ends so it flares out like the candy!

You can also get some cotton and fill at the fabric store and spray paint it pink to look like cotton candy and have that around the party.

You can walk around any hardware store and see if you can find something that is round that you can make into a spiral for lollipops, if not, go to the floral dept. of the crafts store and get one of the wreath frames that's round and work with them and keep adding them on top of each other and into each other until you have a round lollipop and then spray paint it the color you want. You can use anything as the stick, that's the easy part!

I would use actual candy as much as you can, you can also go to Dylanscandybar.com they have awesome varieties of candy and things that you can get to decorate and give out. You may find some things there. You can also do an online search for candy decorations, I'm sure you'll get a ton of websites.

I hope some of these ideas help and that your nieces' have a great party and a very Happy Birthday!

Can you blend vanilla pudding with cream cheese to use as a pie filling?

I'm trying to come up with a way to use some small puff pastry shells for individual little desserts. Thanks for the help. Can you blend vanilla pudding with cream cheese to use as a pie filling?
yes you can... look on jello pudding websites. It is actually called two layer pie. You can combine the cream cheese with cool whip,( I am not sure of the amounts, but googe it or look on Kraftfoods. com,and it will be there,) and make it really special. But yes you can!Can you blend vanilla pudding with cream cheese to use as a pie filling?
I wouldn't recommend it. Once I tried making cheese cake, thinking if I added pudding to cream cheese and some other stuff I could make something good... it didnt mix right and looked gross in the end(though it did taste good) maybe tried putting some fruit in and sprinkle on some sugar...
    chicken
Sounds delightful. Pre-bake the pastry. Maybe even top with some whipped cream %26amp; grated chocolate or citrus rind.
You can blend a raw egg with cream cheese(BEAT TILL FLUFFY) and bake it in the oven and get the effect of a cream filling!I layer my cakes with the filling!GOOD!It would do the same to bake it inside your pasty shells!
You can do this, but make sure that the cream cheese is room temperature before you try to mix them. Also, if you are using from-the-box pudding mix (the only kind I use, too lazy to make from scratch) then follow the directions for the pie-set pudding.

You can also mix pudding with whipped cream or CoolWhip to use for pastry fillings, that is what I often do to make a 5-minute mud pie.

What is the absolute best firming cream?

There are many I know, but what has the best research, track record etc. Not just for face but firming in general. ThanksWhat is the absolute best firming cream?
If you do an Answers search you will find many say they do not work. Anything you simply apply to skin is going to do very little if anything at all. And many ridiculously expensive designer products have so many skin harming, skin aging ingredients. Some users have reported they have caused itchy, blistery skins, rashes, bumps and even acne.(You can verify with a Google search). This safe treatment gives really good fast results and it's using low cost natural oils. Pure olive oil is excellent. It naturally benefits skin in many ways, and is a perfect moisturizer. If you massage thoroughly you will quickly see the results even in one day. Skin will tighten, start to glow and look and feel smoother. You have to tighten and flex the part being massaged and in doing so it exercises and conditions all face (and some neck) muscles whilst skin is being firmed and conditioned by massage. This is the best treatment to to revitalize and rejuvenate. It's safe to use on wrinkles (see users comments in my B.A). Rub them over and over they will quickly start to diminish and even in a day or two they will have greatly diminished. Try it - you and your bank balance will both benefit.

THE BEST STRAWBERRY SOFT ICE CREAM RECIPE

    Ingredients:

    * 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped

    * 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

    * 2 large eggs

    * 1 cup sugar, divided

    * 2 cups heavy whipping cream

    * 1 cup milk

    * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Directions:

Combine strawberries, lemon juice, and 1/4 cup sugar in a mixing bowl, set aside in fridge for 1 hour.

In large mixing bowl beat eggs until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

Gradually add 3/4 cups sugar, mixing well. Stir in milk and vanilla and mix well.

Add strawberries with juice and mix well.

Gently stir in whipping cream just until combined.

Pour into ice cream maker and have fun!
Strawberry, Coconut Ice Cream - it's really easy and the kids love, chop up some fresh strawberries and place in a mixer with some vanilla ice cream and then add a bag of coconut flakes. Mix for a few seconds but don't overdo it. This ice cream is really good inside chocolate eclairs.

Peanut Butter Jelly Ice Cream - Take some vanilla ice cream and add a few spoonfulls of peanut butter and also a few spoonfulls of your favourite jelly, mix gently to combine, but not too much. Serve in a bowl with wafers and sprinkle a few chopped nuts over the top.
I eat ice cream with blackberry jam!! It is SO good in fact I just had some a bit ago! I just mix it in with regular store bought ice cream but it's like a blackberry milkshake! YUMMY! I like the idea with the peanut butter someone above said never tried it I'll have to next time! lol
Normally those recipies would call for raw eggs. Why not just go buy the mix frrom a kitchen store? Or a box of ice cream milk from a food supplier? Might be easier, and better tasting.

Is it OK to put ice cream in the microwave?

You know, health-wise? Like a carton of frozen ice cream that you wanna warm up? I do this all the time but I've heard it can have negative ramifications health-wise. Is this true?Is it OK to put ice cream in the microwave?
It's perfectly fine. I do it all the time. But don't put it in there for too long. =)Is it OK to put ice cream in the microwave?
i don't know... but i do it for only a few seconds so it is soft enough to scoop!
yes, i had a friend with real sensitive teeth and he would put his ice cream in the microwave for a few seconds so it wouldn't be so cold.
    Yes, you can
I think it is perfectly ok.
if it is in a plastic container... then its probably not the best but they dont come in those plastic anymore
no all it will do is make ice cream flavoured soup,
I don't think there's any problem with it.

Yes you could use hair removal cream!! Just make sure you buy one designed to be used on the face!!
yes, alot of african american men do.
i would do a small patch test first to check that you're not allergic. I once used it for underarm hair and I came out in a sore rash which was terrible as I couldn't wear any deoderant for a week!!!

yeah as long as it's specially formulated for the face because the other's would be way too harsh...it's messy though and you have to leave it on a certain amount of time so really you're not saving much time and it only lasts a few days
yes, for sure but some may irritate your skin make it itch or burn or make red bumps, if that happens just quit using the product and go back to shaving hope this help :)
Only if you want to look like Freddy Kruger.
    Hi there,

Yes you can use hair removal cream on your face, but check which one (if you decide) to use as some may be a bit harsh for your face, also I recommend that you do a skin test before applying to the whole of your face in case of a reaction with your skin.

I knew a mate when I was going to college who used skin removal cream all the time as he was scared about cutting him self when shaving.

Hope this helps and good luck.
    I wouldn't - there's a chance it wouldn't grow back over time.
yh i dont see why not
you could, but if you have sensitive skin, then you might get an allergic reaction, which don't disappear quickly, especially when you shave over it. plus all those kinds of products smell DISGUSTING. even the ones marketed as like, ';cucumber melon';. i would not want that so close to my nose if i were you.
You may find the hair is so coarse that it won't dissolve in the maximum time.

Also, you'd have to use quite a lot so it would work out expensive and smelly!
    of course

What is the name of the cream that looks like foundation but covers up scars and tattoos perfectly?

I saw a tv infomercial of it late one night. It's a cream that covers up scars and tattoos but sort of looks like foundation, but it has molecules or something that makes it match your skin tone. I think it might have the name 'eraser' in it but I'm not sure. What is the name of the cream that looks like foundation but covers up scars and tattoos perfectly?
Sephora has it, and it works great. What is the name of the cream that looks like foundation but covers up scars and tattoos perfectly?
Honestly, I'm not sure which one you've seen but Kat Von D makes a really good tattoo concealer. It's made by Sephora, and costs only $25USD.
    Maybe it's Dermablend.
i've been hearing a lot of advertisements lately for WRECKING BALM. I have no idea if it actually works or not.

Is it OK to eat ice cream when you have braces?

I was wondering, because I might get braces. I saw on many sites that people said ice cream was a nice treat to eat when you get braces, but my cousin (who has braces) said that his orthodontist told him not to eat foods that are too icy.Is it OK to eat ice cream when you have braces?
I think You can...i have Braces and i eat ice cream...What the Orthodontist means is not to bite iceIs it OK to eat ice cream when you have braces?
yes as long as you brush afterwards. and it doesn't have chunky stuff in it.
well when i got my braces i couldn't even chew so ice cream just melts in your mouth right away , ur cousins teeth might be sensitive so then you should be careful otherwsie go ahead with ice cream which has no cbuncks in it or only pieces of choclate which can melt.
    creamy ice cream sure...

not ice cream with chewey additives like gummies

    not popcycles

definitely not licorice, taffy, jaw breakers or bubblegum
I think it's totally fine. I had braces and ate ice cream all the time! Basically, the foods orthodontists don't want you to eat is food that will get stuck in them (ex. popcorn, gum) but ice cream is totally fine!
I had alot of ice cream when I had my braces on because it made my teeth feel so much better. You can eat ice cream!
i had braces%26amp;%26amp;i ate ice cream.

    nothing bad happened.

so i say yes it is ok to eat

    ice cream.=]
It is possible to get your braces so cold that they will pop off the tooth. If they contract from the chill, they just pop off. It's painless, but irratating. Just watch how you eat it, and don't hold it in your mouth for a long time. Just eat it slower between bites so that your mouth warms up. And leave out the nuts. They are a pain in butt to get out of your braces and will easily pop off a brace if you bite down on one the wrong way.
Yeah. The only reason it's not good to eat things icy (like ice) is because they are so hard and if you chew them a wire will snap or a bracket can pop off. Trust me, I love chewing ice and I've had 3 brackets replaced and my wires break all the time. Not good. Stay away from chips, too. And popcorn! That's about it. Ice cream is more than fine.

What is a substiute for light cream?

im making cookies and it calls for light cream but i dont have any and i cant go to the store. suggestions?!What is a substiute for light cream?
If you have half and half, you can use that, or whole milk with a small amount of heavy cream. What is a substiute for light cream?
condensed milk is good, if you use sweetened condensed mlk, cut back on the sugar you are adding-just taste the dough to see if it is ok-also whole milk or try this, take low fat milk, add some olive oil until it makes a suspension, this will add the fat you would ordinarily get from the cream, and keep the calories and saturated fat n=more reasonable. have fun, this kind of cooking is way more fun, and you may find you like it better.

Can i bake with expired sour cream?

it expired about 11 days ago.

it had some water on the top but i mixed it up, it is creamy (not curdled), smells fine (well, as fine as sour cream could ever smell), and has no mold in it.

i have no desire to eat it because i don't want to get sick, but would baking with it be okay? Can i bake with expired sour cream?
I would. After all, the oven will get up to what? About 375F? The high temperature would kill any bad things in sour cream, and sour cream is just a form of soured milk anyway. If there's no mold, no clumpy curds and no weird smell, it's fine to bake with. The acid in buttermilk and sour cream contains acids which tenderize the gluten in the recipe, producing a fine crumb. Sour cream and cream cheese add richness to a recipe, which makes them super moist and almost springy.

Can i bake with expired sour cream?
The way you describe it's condition should make it safe as long as it has always been refrigerated before using. Dairy products are usually fine for about a week after the use by date as long as they are stored properly. It gives stores a chance to mark them down for quick sale to make something off them before they would have to be pitched. I would advise eating the dish you are preparing within a day or three since you already know at least one of the ingredients is ';on the clock';.
There is a difference between the sell by date and the use by date. That's usually a week to 10 days. You'll be fine to use it in baking. After all, it's already sour, and it looks ok. And I'm the most conservative person about these things, but I know baking.
no. if it's bad it's bad. period. don't use it. it might not make you as sick as if you just ate it outright, but it will definitely harm your recipe.
When it truly goes bad it gets moldy. I just pour the liquid off and keep using it.
    I would not, probably...

condensed milk to the melted carmels and mix it up and they will

stay softer when coving the ice cream. Very tasty. Can I melt those little creamy caramel squares, and pour it over ice cream?
It would probably taste great, but don't they already sell caramel in a squeeze bottle? I remember seeing it displayed in the ice creamr section at the grocery store.
well i GUESS you could, but the only problem would be that it would freeze again before you put it over the ice cream. :P. I'd recommend you get the special hershey's carmel sauce stuff. it tastes better in my opinion.
Sounds good, just don't over heat it caramel burns very easy.
Yes , a double boiler style will work the best so you don't have to worry about scorching the caramel.

Is it safe to use sun cream that I bought last summer?

I have heard that you should buy new sun block every year . Do you think this is true?Is it safe to use sun cream that I bought last summer?
yes it only tends to have a 6-12 month shelf life and its a bit risky not like say mascara or lipgloss because they dont protect u from skin cancer! Is it safe to use sun cream that I bought last summer?
We have so little sun in this country I'm still using sun cream from 5 years ago. No ill effects so far! Report Abuse

No products like food have use by dates if you look on the back you might see a pot with say..... 12m or 9m and that is the use by date its on the back of make up and all products like body wash, shampoo ect........ so I would say buy new to be safe
if i have sun cream from the year before it seems to work fine for me.

another question though, why the hell is it so expensive all of a sudden? I swear it never used to be a tenner for the nivea stuff
I don't think it is ';un-safe'; to use it,but I would buy fresh because trust me you can tell the difference! It works better and is not sticky.(:
You should throw out your old SUN BLOCK after it expires just like you would your make up,because it may break you out.
personally i would buy a new one but thats just me

it makes me feel safer lol dont know why lol

hmm does the bottle have any dates too use buy ?

    x
well depends, is the block u got last year expired? if it is the just by a new it all depends whether it expired or not
you dont have to but it supposedly does mean that youve lost half of what the factor was last year
Ive allways used old suncream, the leftovers from last summer.

    Its fine!

    My whole family does it.
Well, if I would be you I would buy a knew one. It's not like if it's 200 $ :D
It won't hurt you, but it might not protect you as well.
    no its expired by now
hmm i heard its good for three years
I would get fresh, but thats just me. I do
What do you think might happen?
no. don't use more than a YR old of suncream . it damages your skin

The British tend to label things differently, single, double and devon/clotted cream, in the US and Canada we associate the heaviest cream is refered to a whipping cream.

In Canada we have 5%, 10%, 18% and 35%, most of the lighter ones are used in coffee and cereals. I n the restaurant business we used 35% to our cream sauces, in the US your familiar with half anf half, light, heavy or whipping cream. you can use anything for cooking but dessert need whipping cream.

I need it before tommarow.PLEASE help.I need a cream non wine shrimp scampi and best recommendations. Please give tips for good flavor.I need a scampi recipe and no wine.I also need one with cream inside fro taste.?
    1 1/2 pounds large shrimp (about 16 to 24)

    1/3 cup clarified butter

    4 tablespoons minced garlic

    6 green onions, thinly sliced

1/4 cup non-alcoholic white wine, white grape juice or white wine vinegar.

2 tablespoons lemon juice, fresh if possible

    2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

    salt and pepper, to taste

Rinse shrimp and set aside. Heat butter in large skillet over medium heat. Cook garlic 1 or 2 minutes or until softened but not browned. Add shrimp, green onions, wine and lemon juice; cook until shrimp are pink and firm, about 1 to 2 minutes on each side.

Do not overcook. Add chopped parsley and salt and pepper before serving. Garnish with lemon slices and parsley sprigs if desiredI need a scampi recipe and no wine.I also need one with cream inside fro taste.?
FYI - shrimp scampi is in a garlic, butter, and white wine sauce - cream sauce is not scampi.

If you want a cream sauce you want shrip alfredo:

saute the shrimp in garlic and butter/olive oil until the shrimp is pink and cooked through

add alfredo sauce (you can use jar sauce like bertolli, ragu, 5 brothers, whatever you like, OR make alfredo - homemade takes a while or one of the packets from the grocery store you add milk to)

I also add veggies (peas and broccoli are my favorites) - I just boil them in the water I boil my pasta in

dump the shrimp, veggies, and sauce over the pasta and enjoy

Also, you'd have to use quite a lot so it would work out expensive and smelly!
    of course

Can I use Heavy cream instead of milk when cooking alfredo?

I'm just using a packet mix for my alfredo but it calls for 1 cup of milk and I'm all out. However, I have some heavy cream. Can I use the cream and if so, how much should I use? Thanks! Can I use Heavy cream instead of milk when cooking alfredo?
thats what i do. It tastes just as good (or even better)! Good Luck! Can I use Heavy cream instead of milk when cooking alfredo?
You certainly can. Now that being said there are some chemical reactions going on %26lt;read chemical thickeners%26gt; this is going to make the dish very thick very quickly. The milk fat percentage on most whole milks is 3.25. Heavy cream is 36 to 40%. To get the right consistency you can cut it with water.

As to amount if the cream is say 30 to 36% you should use about 10 to 1 cream to water though easily you could run to 5:1

    JSin
it is even better in tasting ,,but you must add half the amount of cream the other half is water to which you must add small spoon of flour, stir well and add to cream just at boiling ,this well help the cream not to be separated under the effect of heat and give the cosistency to the sauce, the only thing ,it must be hot as the cream tend to be slightly hard when cold ,,,but still more more delecious than you think
Yes you can, it will just be creamier and richer.

Use a little less to begin with, you can always add more.
    coco is right........enjoy

  • What does light or fat free cream cheese taste like?

I can taste the difference between fat free sour cream and regular. Is there much of a difference in taste for cream cheese? Which one tastes more like regular, fat free or light? What does light or fat free cream cheese taste like?
I have tried the fat free cream cheese and to me, it is not even close. I only bought it once and will never buy it again.

Now the light cream cheese is a different story. In my opinion it tastes VERY close to the regular, just a little less rich. I buy the light cream cheese all the time for bagels and such, however, I still use regular cream cheese in baking. To me cookies and cheese cakes need to be rich. What does light or fat free cream cheese taste like?
Actually, think about the differences between the sour creams and you will get an idea of what the cream cheeses will taste like. Fat-free has a slight chemical taste and is sweet - not pleasant and really nothing like cream cheese. Light is similar to the real thing, but again, has that odd chemical taste.

I use the real thing, just use less of it. Ditto for the Sour Cream. Tip - if you want to lighten full-fat Sour Cream, make it 3/4 Sour Cream to 1/4 Plain Yoghurt - best is Dannon Viactiv because of the flavor.
There's really not much of a difference--no matter what type you get, its still rich, creamy, and thick. If you did a side-by-side taste test, you would probably be able to identify the ';regular'; kind, but otherwise I think fat free or light are both great substitutes.
If you want the same taste, get the light cream cheese. The taste is pretty much the same. I don't like the fat-free cream cheese.
    bleh :/

i tried light once, it wasnt worth it

How does the addition of sour cream to cakes make the baked good more moist? (eg pound cakes)?

I always use sour cream in heavier cakes, like pound cake or banana bread. It's creamy and thicker than milk, and just adds a fantastic texture to it..... You can also substitute yogurt (flavored yogurt to match the cake flavor is good). Sour cream is also a good substitute for milk in mashed potatoes, and anything else that you'd like extra creamy and moist.....How does the addition of sour cream to cakes make the baked good more moist? (eg pound cakes)?
part of the reason is 'baked goods get their moisture from liquid ingredients and retain it best when fat and sugar are present'.

You h ave the sugar and sour cream is a more moist fat than butter

It des also make a nice tasting cakeHow does the addition of sour cream to cakes make the baked good more moist? (eg pound cakes)?
It sounds redicules but try using a pureed potatoe! It works great!

What is your experience (good and bad) with using over-the-counter progesterone cream for estrogen dominance?

I recently started using progesterone cream to TRY to get relief for extreme breast tenderness (painful 2 weeks out of a month). What is your experience with OTC progesterone? Weight gain? Weight loss? Other results? What is your experience (good and bad) with using over-the-counter progesterone cream for estrogen dominance?
I tried a progesterone cream for hormonal balance. It seemed to help and I really didnt have any abnormal side effects that would make me stop using it if I needed it still. I did gain weight, but at the same time I also got the Depo Shot and I think it was more from that than anything else :)

How long can you store eye cream?

I bought it a year ago and never got around to using it.

Is it still safe to use?How long can you store eye cream?
yes is safe to use almost all face cosmetics last 1 year half to 2 years

to expire ,you can still use it.How long can you store eye cream?
Creams are usually good for a year or two.

If you've never opened it, it's probably fine. If the product is starting to separate or the texture feels funny toss it. Also, if the smell is off.. get rid of it.

Just have a look and sniff before you put it near your eyes.

How to make any flavor ice cream?

I'm really craving ice cream and my mom won't let me buy ice cream. Got any good recipes without an icecream maker? How to make any flavor ice cream?
    Custard ice cream

    Serves 6

    Preparation time over 2 hours

Cooking time 10 to 30 mins

This is a classic method for making ice cream. Avoid serving homemade ice cream to babies, toddlers and pregnant women, as they are at a higher risk for salmonella poisoning from undercooked eggs.

    Ingredients

    284ml/10fl oz pot single cream

    1 vanilla pod

    4 free-range egg yolks

    125g/4陆oz caster sugar

    284ml/10fl oz pot double cream

    Method

    1. Pour the single cream into a medium saucepan. Slit the vanilla pod lengthways with a sharp knife and place it in the pan. Set the heat to medium and heat the cream until it just starts to steam a little. Switch off the hob and let the saucepan sit there. The heat will draw the vanilla flavour into the cream.

    2. Meanwhile, whisk the egg yolks with the sugar for a minute, until they turn thick and a little paler.

    3. Pour the saucepan of hot cream into the sugary egg mixture and whisk again until smooth. Pour it all back into the saucepan.

    4. With the heat set very low, stir the creamy mixture constantly with a wooden spoon so it doesn't stick to the base of the pan but heats slowly and evenly. To see if the custard has heated enough, check from time to time with this classic test: take the spoon out of the custard and look at the back of it. The film of custard on the spoon should look noticeably creamier. Draw your finger across the back of the spoon and, if the line stays clear and distinct, your custard has thickened enough.

    5. Turn off the heat and carry the saucepan over to the work surface. Carry on stirring for a few more seconds so the cooking process is halted and the custard starts to cool down. Strain the custard through a sieve into a jug.

    6. As soon as the custard has cooled to room temperature, put the jug in the fridge for half an hour, then stir in the double cream.

    7. Either pour the mixture into an ice cream machine and churn it until it freezes or pour it into a plastic food container. Freeze it for about an hour or until the sides start to get solid. When this happens, mash up the mixture with a fork, mixing the frozen sides into the liquid centre. Put it back in the freezer straight away for another hour. Repeat this twice more at hourly intervals and then let the ice cream set.

How to make any flavor ice cream?
    1/2 cup milk

    1/2 teaspoon vanilla

    1 tablespoon sugar

    4 cups crushed ice

    4 tablespoons salt

    2 quart size Zip-loc bags

1 gallon size Zip-loc freezer bag

a hand towel or gloves to keep fingers from freezing as well!

Mix the milk, vanilla and sugar together in one of the quart size bags. Seal tightly, allowing as little air to remain in the bag as possible. Too much air left inside may force the bag open during shaking. Place this bag inside the other quart size bag, again leaving as little air inside as possible and sealing well. By double-bagging, the risk of salt and ice leaking into the ice cream is minimized. Put the two bags inside the gallon size bag and fill the bag with ice, then sprinkle salt on top. Again let all the air escape and seal the bag. Wrap the bag in the towel or put your gloves on, and shake and massage the bag, making sure the ice surrounds the cream mixture. Five to eight minutes is adequate time for the mixture to freeze into ice cream.
    ';Makes one serving:

    * 1/2 cup milk(any type), cream or half %26amp; half

    * 1 tablespoon of sugar

    * 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract or chocolate syrup

    * lots of ice

    * rock salt

o can be purchased in nearly any grocery store

    o may be labeled as ';cubed sodium chloride';

o you can also make your own rock salt from regular table salt

Ingredients and supplies for the plastic bag method

    Plastic Bag Method

This is good for making individual servings of ice cream to be eaten promptly after making. The video below shows a slightly different recipe but still instructs on how to make ice cream with a sandwich bag.

    1.

    Mix sugar, milk or half %26amp; half, and flavoring in a bowl, then seal it in a quart-sized plastic bag.';
The ice cream maker just mixes and freezes it well. I'd think you could blend it well with a mixer or blender and freeze it. Might not have quite the consistency - probably the ice cream maker also colds %26amp; blends it so the milk solids don't separate. If it's a matter of mess with rock salt, etc., get an ice cream maker that doesn't use salt. You can find them pretty reasonable - you just freeze the bowl then pour in your mixture and spin it.

Sorbet is really great too! Just puree fruit, add lemon juice and sweetener and a little alcohol (flavored rum, vodka, etc) and freeze. Honeydew melon with grated ginger is sooo refreshing! I don't even miss ice cream with that in the house! (Ice cream costs over $5 a half gallon here, so.... I don't buy it either any more).

    What about frozen pudding pops?

Is it good to use shaving cream on the red skin of the penis?I have a swelling on my penis and it is redish?

It is also a slight itchy and it is present for three days now after i had done masturbation in which i had pulled my foreskin behing the nob.How could i cure the swelling because it has become big and i cant pull my foreskin back?Is it good to use shaving cream on the red skin of the penis?I have a swelling on my penis and it is redish?
you mast see adoctor. may be you do same injury on it.Is it good to use shaving cream on the red skin of the penis?I have a swelling on my penis and it is redish?
If I have understood you right you have a tight foreskin and may have trapped it behind the rim of the glans. This sounds quite serious if you have pain and swelling and you might need to go to Casualty/ER to get it released. Using soap or shaving foam is not a good idea for masturbation as they remove natural oils and you can chafe your helmet. You should use a lubricant such as KY Gel.
do you mean that you can't put your foreskin back over the knob from it being retracted? if that's the case, get to the doctor FAST. You'll do damage to your penis otherwise. If you mean that the foreskin is just swollen, then the shaving cream is probably to blame. I did that with hand soap. It might stay swollen for a day or two, but then should clear up. If it doesn't see a doctor
    no don't use shaving cream

there are creams on the shelf on the pharmacy called anti-inflammatory

like cotizone you can use it but test it first on ur skin
    Disturbing, that is my answer.
Dude........can't you get a girl? I think that it may be infected and it will probably fall off.

  • Is it odd that an ice cream truck is operating at 9 at night?

Two or three times a week I hear the neighborhood ice cream truck(actually an 80'd model conversion van) playing its melody to attract customers. Isn't that an odd time of day for an ice cream truck to operate? Is it odd that an ice cream truck is operating at 9 at night?
um yes, most lil kids should be in bed by thenIs it odd that an ice cream truck is operating at 9 at night?
I'd watch out for that.... he's probably some freaky guy looking for little kids to munch on. Unless he is doing this twice or three times a day and it's usually earlier than 9:00pm, I wouldn't step close if I were you.
If you know the company name this guy drives for, you could call them and ask why he's driving around so late at night. 9:00 is usually bed time for a lot of kids. (Even my 15 year-old goes to bed at 9:00)

If they are unaware of his activities, you will have alerted them to something potentially dangerous. If they know or just don't care, you could contact the police, or organize a crime watch. If he knows that people don't want him around, he'll have to leave. And if he's dealing drugs, as was hinted at, you definitely want him gone.
get his tag number; go out and buy an ice cream; chat him up and get a good description ; call the police. that is suspious behavior. could be a robber; some kind of a predator casing the neigborhood...... always listen to your instinct.Call cops complain about the noise, he makes you uneasy; kids are in bed; express concern he may be a robber or worse a predatoor,

Police need your help in keeping u safe. maybe form a neigborhood watch committie...........
Yes that does sound a little odd...
i would watch this guy,i am to where i don't trust anybody when it comes to our children.that would be a perfect cover for a sex offender.not saying he's one but we got to take care of the little ones.
Tho some of the answers have merit--I would just suggest that you think about this:

Here in Fla, it isn't even dark until well after 8--and a lot of people sit outside in the evening--and the kids are in the street still at that time because there is no school during the summer, so the ice cream guy makes a last round about that time on weekends.

I guarantee you that 15 year olds aren't in bed by nine here, they're still at the mall--and the small kids can hear an ice cream truck from five miles away--but they can't hear their moms calling them inside--so, even if their inside, they're already nagging for ice cream in advance of the truck's arrival.

Regardless, depending on your neighborhood--it could seem suspicious. If you are very concerned, contact your local police and ask them to visit your neighborhood around the time the truck comes through to see if it is on the up and up. They know what questions to ask and will check for whether or not this guy has a license to operate.
i would think so! ussaly they r only around during lunch time-a little after dinner like 7 or 8 pm.
vanity chick is right he'll prob wake them up tho with that demented music
if you are really suspicious just call the police and ask them to drive thru the area when he comes around at night.
    Yes...it seems odd.
Ok. The reason why you hear the ice cream truck so late at night, is because thats when the people deal illegal drugs. The ice cream noise is to fool the cops into thinking that is a normal truck. It is one of the diversions that drug dealers use to try and keep the cops away from them. It is still supposedly a good diversion in their thoughts, but it never works.
as hot as it's been, no
definately!! I would stay away from that truck. he could be a kidnapper or something. if you baby-sit, dont let the kids near the truck. ya know... his ice cream could be poison... not good!!! but yes it is an abnormal time.
Its probably an imposter who doesn't have any ice cream, but has other intentions...
Its Big Worm! You better have his money smokey!
i dont think its too odd but it depends on when the sun goes down. i'm 23 and i still go running out to the ice cream truck when it goes by. besides i think some drivers leave their music going on the way home hoping to make a couple extra bucks
We have the same problem.I can assure you it's not just ice cream their selling. Some of them are legit about selling their ice cream but at that time,I don't think so.Their peddling other products without any dairy in it( if you know what i mean)Lol
this is his own truck %26amp; maybe this is his only means of income so he really don't have a particular time to sale his ice cream %26amp; its just not for kids adults do buy ice cream for them selfs too
maybe he gets drunk and drives around at night. or maybe that's his only mode of transportation and since there's no radio he has to listen to pop goes the weasel.
Yes, and they have been known to deal in that way, if you get my drift
    its caled ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~OVERTIME~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~鈥?br>

    ';Baileys Cream ' liqueur?
Bailey's launched its Irish Creme Liqueur in 1974. The creme liqueur is based on an old Irish recipe using all-natural ingredients, including creme that is produced just for the Bailey's company. As a result of their product line being so successful,

Bailey's accounts for 1/3 of Ireland's entire milk production. More than 4,000 farmers supply the 4 million gallons of milk used annually in producing cream for the liqueur. Bailey's now ranks number 1 among all liqueur brands in the world.

    Strawberry Cream Recipe

    Ingredients:

    1/2 ounce Cocoa Butter

    1/2 ounce Lanolin

2 1/2 ounces Apricot Kernel Oil

    3/4 ounce Strawberry juice

    3 drops of Benzoin

    Instructions:

Thoroughly wash and drain several large, fresh strawberries. Mash and strain the juice through a colander or sieve(if you have a fruit/vegetable juicer, this will be easier). Heat the cocoa butter, lanolin, and almond oil in a double boiler(do this slowly, not to a boil). Remove from heat, and add strawberry juice very quickly. Beat briskly until fluffy(an egg whisk or electric mixer will do). Put into sterilized jars. Keep refridgerated. Apply each night, or when ever needed.

    Coconut-Cream Pie

    Piecrust Ingredients:

    2 cups dried unsweet coconut

    1/4 cup sugar

    1/2 stick butter, unsalted

Combine coconut, sugar and butter in a food processor; press into a pie pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

    Filling Ingredients:

    1/2 cup sugar

    3 Tbs. cornstarch

    1/4 tsp. salt

    1 cup condensed milk

    1 cup coconut milk

    1/2 cup fresh coconut

    3 egg yolks

    3 Tbs. butter

    1 Tbs. vanilla

    1 Tbs. coconut extract

In a medium saucepan whisk together sugar, cornstarch and salt. Add condensed milk, coconut milk, fresh coconut and egg yolks. Stir over medium heat until thickened, then bring to a boil for about a minute. Add butter, vanilla and coconut extract. Remove from heat and finish whisking. Pour into piecrust and place in refrigerator until set (2 to 3 hours).

If you don't wish to use meringue, add coconut extract to whipped cream for topping pie.

    Meringue Ingredients:

    5 egg whites

    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

    10 Tbs. sugar

Whip together egg whites and cream of tartar while slowly adding sugar. Immediately place on top of coconut pie and bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.

    Homemade Chocolate Sauce Ingredients:

    1 bag chocolate chips

    2/3 cup water

    1 tsp. vanilla

    1/4 tsp. salt

    1 can condensed milk

Combine ingredients in saucepan over medium heat, whisking until shiny and thick. Let cool to room temperature. Can be stored in refrigerator and reheated in the microwave for about 30 seconds. This is great drizzled on the plate with a slice of pie served on top, or you can drizzle sauce over the pie before adding meringue or whipped-cream topping.

    Chef's Notes:

    * Spray pie pan with nonstick butter spray before pressing in crust mixture.

    * It takes the pie only 2 to 3 hours to set, but it's better to let it set overnight.

    * When applying meringue, be sure that the topping comes in contact with the outer part of the pan: this helps the meringue stay stiff and full when cooked. Also, let it cool to room temperature before placing in the refrigerator.I am looking for a coconut cream pie recipe made with condensed milk?
