Can you make an alfredo sauce with a base of heavy whipping cream?

if so, what other ingridients are needed? Can you make an alfredo sauce with a base of heavy whipping cream?
when I make Alfredo sauce I use heavy cream or whipping cream. pour about 2 cups of cream into a pot. (sauce pot) When the cream is hot, don't let it boil, turn your heat down to a simmer and then add fresh crated Parmesan cheese. about a cup full. also add 1/2 cup of Asiago cheese, fresh grated of course. add a 1/2 cup of fresh grated Romano cheese as well stirring the mixture constantly. add about 1/2 a stick of butter while still stirring. when the cheeses and butter have all melted together and become smooth and sauce like, it's ready to serve! you can serve it tossed with your favorite pasta as a side dish. it's rich and Delicious. the sauce will be kind of thick. try to think of other uses for this sauce after you taste it. oh yeah, you may need to add a little salt, and pepper is good in this sauce too. hope this helps, chef paulCan you make an alfredo sauce with a base of heavy whipping cream?
i use a pint of heavy whipping cream, a stick of butter, garlic, white pepper and fresh, grated parmesan cheese.

in a saucepan, melt butter and add minced garlic, as much or as little as you like. add the cream and white pepper and simmer, but not letting it boil. when it is just about to boil, add the parmesan cheese. reduce heat slightly and stir until cheese is melted. if you think it needs to be thickened, use a tablespoon of cornstarch and a tablespoon of water, mixed together.

hope this helps...
I have always made it an easy way....

make a roux with flour and butter, once it is light in color and smells ';nutty'; Add heavy cream and simmer, do not get it to a rolling boil stage. Add pepper, salt, parmasean cheese, and nutmeg and if it is a little on the thick side, do not be afraid to add a little regular milk:-)

Cook until hot enough to melt 1/2 cup finely grated ';fresh'; Parmesan cheese from the deli. Add chopped fresh or dried parsley about 1 teaspoon. Cook ';fresh'; pasta (from the cheese department at the store) and drain well.

Pour Alfredo Sauce over the top of chicken, broccoli, mushrooms, shrimp or whatever. Then serve with the cooked pasta.
