Unfortunately you can't prevent stretch marks completely if you're genetically prone to them. But you can help lessen their appearance by improving your skin's elasticity by rubbing your belly several times a day with creams or oils like Vitamin E based creams, Almond oil or cocoa butter creams.
Here are the products I've tried over the years to get rid of already formed stretch marks and suggest for you to use during your pregnancy as a preventive treatment (they're a bit pricey but they work!):
- Revitol (bought a 2 months supply for $80, good results, pregnancy safe)

- Stretta (My favourite, and pregnancy safe)

-Trilastin-SR (it was featured on the Tyra Banks Show, good results but a little pricey)

There is also another one that you probably know and many use, I tried it but not for long enough to know how effective it is, it's called Strivectin-SD, but it's very pricy like $135 a tube. But there is a similar product called Striadil that is about 1/3 the price of Strivectin which has the same ingredients but in different ratios. So I would recommend you try Striadil first because you'll save 2/3 of the price. I'm not sure if they're pregnancy safe so you'll need to check.
Good luck. What is the best cream to use when your pregnant to prevent strectch marks?
they are hereditary, and nothing you can do will help them. So far mine have only grown on my hips higher, but none are on my belly (and I would think by now they would've been). I have not been putting lotion on.
I have an aunt who is farely large in her hips and butt-and has cellulite-but has NOT a stretch mark on her! My mom who is about half her size, has them all over her legs...so it's just wait awesome or horrible genes you got. :)
Vitamin-E oil, as well as collegen/elastin lotion. I used the palmers, and those two 3 x's a day from 3 months to delivery!
This is 16 weeks 4 days with 3rd baby in 4 years(all planned, husband and I wanted the kids fairly close together):

It worked for me, don't have any that are a big enough deal to worry about just a couple on my thighs that are the thin white ones. Use it all 3x's a day EVERYWHERE you can think of...like head to toe lol.
Nothing prevents stretch marks. they are several layers of skin deep and NO lotion can penetrate that deeply. Nothing will make them fade, either, short of surgery. Anyone who said they used a lotion and it prevented stretchmarks were predisposed to NOT have them anyway.
Some people do not even get stretch marks (that are visible), and it is not because of a lotion or a creme. It is because of their genes. You can try cocoa butter, but you are either going to get them or not.
