I've seen my doctor twice about this problem and have got no further than cold sore cream. It's been bothering me since last October, and refuses to go away completely. Anyone got an answer please? How do I get rid of a whitlow, on my middle finger, which keeps returning despite using cold sore cream?
I recurring cases like yours you may need systemic anti-virals. Ask your doctor about a course of acyclovir tablets. This infection is common in health care workers, if you are in that area of work you may need to take extra precautions to protect yourself from patients, such as increased hand-washing or wearing gloves. It may also be that you are reinfecting yourself if you have any herpetic lesions elsewhere. Good luckHow do I get rid of a whitlow, on my middle finger, which keeps returning despite using cold sore cream?
bathe it in salt water
ouch used to get them as a kid
I thought a witlow was some nail that had broken off and is now pulling further back making it sore and infected, all i do is get some cuticle nippers from somewhere like sallys hair and beauty supplies and cut it out so its not pulling anymore then it should heal better, keep on top of it till it starts to grow properly again then you shouldnt have any trouble.
