(Sorry this question is repeated but I accidently resolved it %26amp; closed it to new answers.) Thanks so much for all the people who answered this question before. How can I make fondant without using a candy thermometer or cream of tartar or corn syrup or glucose?
MM (Marshmallow) Fondant Recipe
16 ounces white mini marshmallows (use a good quality brand)
2 to 5 tablespoons water
2 pounds icing sugar (use C%26amp;H Cane Powdered Sugar for the best results)
陆 cup Crisco shortening (you will be digging into it so place in a very easily accessed bowl)
The recipe instructions are quite lengthy, but with pics, in the link provided below. No need for candy thermometer, cream of tartar, corn syrup, or glucose. HOWEVER, commercially made marshmallows (basically anything marshmallow-like you buy from the store) is made from corn syrup. The other link is for a marshmallow recipe without corn syrup. How can I make fondant without using a candy thermometer or cream of tartar or corn syrup or glucose?
i think that is just too many substitutions and will not have the same consistancy of fondant.
without a cany thermometer, it is hard to tell how long to cook. my stove may heat different than your to say that 20 min at a high boil will get to the same temp.
buy some fondant at walmart!!
Well you are making a WEDDING CAKE. Thats a really important one. Please don't subsitute for the real thing. You may end up wasting the ingredients you have and spending more money than if you went and got corn syrup, cream of tarter and a candy thermometer.
buy plain white by volume already made from a bakery and go from there
I know everyone hates wal mart but I tried the recioes and suffered horribly I went to Wally world and bought it there. It was super easy to apply. If you aren't experienced my experience says cut the hassle...
Buy it already made in sheets.
you can't .Even if you had the proper ingredients ,you would need to be shown the proper technique and I seriously doubt if you would get it right on your first try. Buy it
